A UK ship is going into “cold lay-up” in a sheltered harbour with no crew members on board. What are the MCA’s requirements concerning ISM Code documentation?

(1) The Safety Management Certificate (and International Ship Security Certificate) will be withdrawn.

Β (2) The procedures required to fully reactivate the ship will need to be established (in the SMS). (3) On reactivation the ship would be treated as a new ship to the company and following successful interim audit an Interim SMC will be issued. (See also LAY-UP in Section I.)
