SOLAS regulation V/19.2.1.5 requires back-up arrangements meeting the functional requirements for nautical charts in regulation V/19.2.1.4, i. e. the back-up arrangements must be able to be used “to plan and display the ship’s route for the intended voyage and to plot and monitor positions throughout the voyage”.
