How often may MCA inspections be carried out of seafarers’ working and living conditions on UK sea-going ships?

At approximately 2 1/2-yearly (and not more than 3-yearly) intervals by MCA surveyors in accordance with ILO Convention 178 and the associated ILO Recommendation 185, as described in MSN 1769. Inspections will usually be arranged to coincide with ISM Safety Management Certificate audits.
