What are the UK statutory requirements relating to emergency instructions for passengers?

Emergency instructions, illustrated where possible, must be displayed in each passenger cabin, in passenger assembly or muster stations and in other passenger spaces.

Β Such instructions, in English and in any other language appropriate to the principal nationalities carried on the ship’s route, are to inform passengers of their assembly or muster stations, essential actions to be taken on hearing the general emergency alarm signal and any other signal requiring action on their part, and the method of donning lifejackets. The location of lifejackets should be included in these instructions.
