What is flag State Control?

Effective enforcement, by the flag State Administration, of the implementation of international agreements and national regulations that are in force on board the vessels entitled to fly the State’s flag, wherever they are. (UNCLOS Article 94 requires that every State effectively exercises its jurisdiction and control in administrative, technical and social matters over ships flying its flag. )
