HM Coastguard is a branch of the MCA with responsibility for co-ordination of all civil maritime search and rescue in the UK Search and Rescue Region (UKSRR) which extends to 30° W longitude. Information about Coastguard operations can be found under “Emergency Response” and “Search and Rescue” on the MCA website www.dft.gov.uk/mca
