UK statutory requirements relating to: 

(1) the standard of maintenance and cleanliness of shipboard working and living areas; (2) minimum age of seafarers; (3) crew agreements; (4) food and catering; (5) crew accommodation; (6) recruitment; (7) manning; (8) qualifications; (9) hours of work; (10) medical certificates; (11) prevention of occupational accidents; (12) medical care; (13) sickness and injury benefits; (14) social welfare; (15) social welfare and related matters, including freedom of association and the right to organise. (UK law on these subjects is based mostly on ILO Conventions. )
