The Merchant Shipping (Hours of Work) Regulations 2002 (SI 2002/2125) as amended by The Merchant Shipping (Hours of Work) (Amendment) Regulations 2004 (SI 2004/1469).
They implement in the UK the EU Directive on the Organisation of Seafarers’ Working time (1999/63/EC). Guidance on their requirements is in MSN 1767. MIN 178 (now expired) explained the requirements of the 2004 Amendment Regulations.
