The Merchant Shipping and Fishing Vessels (Health and Safety at Work) (Asbestos) Regulations 2010 (SI 2010/2984).
The Regulations implement an EC Directive (1983/477/EEC, as amended) by extending to the maritime sector the duty on employers to reduce the risk to their employees’ health resulting from exposure to asbestos at work. The MCA’s guidance is in MGN 429.
