How many copies of the emergency towing booklet should be available?

The IMO Guidelines advise that a minimum of three copies should be kept on board (on the bridge, in a forecastle space, and in the ship’s office or cargo control room).

A copy should also be kept at hand by the owners/operators in order to facilitate the passing on of information to the towage company as early as possible in an emergency situation. A copy should also be kept in a common electronic file format, to allow faster distribution to the concerned parties.
