(1)A periodic inspection will be an expanded inspection if the ship is a High Risk Ship or if it is a bulk carrier, chemical tanker, gas carrier, oil tanker or passenger ship older than 12 years. (2) An additional inspection may be an expanded inspection according to the professional judgment of the Port State Control Officer if the ship is a High Risk Ship or if it is a bulk carrier, chemical tanker, gas carrier, oil tanker or passenger ship older than 12 years.
