Is there a charge for landing ship- generated waste at a UK port?

Yes.

Ships must pay the port or terminal a mandatory waste charge to cover the cost of the waste reception facility, whether they use the facility or not. The only craft exempt from the charge are: fishing vessels; and recreational craft which carry (or are designed to carry) no more than 12 passengers.
