The surveyor attending a vessel must not become personally involved in any repairs needed in connection with that survey. If the master chooses to use the same authorized person for repairs a separate technician must attend the vessel. Also, whilst performing surveys on behalf of the MCA, the surveyor must not undertake any sales activity.
