What are the requirements of The Merchant Shipping (Survey and Certification) Regulations concerning the issue and duration of Exemption Certificates?

(1) When an exemption is granted to a ship in accordance with the relevant regulations, an Exemption Certificate will be issued (in addition to the related SOLAS certificate). 

(2) An Exemption Certificate will be issued for a period of validity not longer than the period of validity of the certificate to which it refers. (3) An Exemption Certificate will be subject to the same extension and other provisions as the certificate to which it refers. (4) Where an Exemption Certificate has been issued, a statement to this effect will be included on the certificate to which it refers.
