What happens when the surveyor finds defects or corrosion on a ship during an enhanced survey?

When a survey results in the identification of significant corrosion or of significant structural defects which, in the opinion of the surveyor, will impair the structural integrity of the ship, then remedial action, in consultation with the flag State Administration, should be agreed and implemented before the ship continues in service.
