They will be gradually phased out as States that have ratified those Conventions ratify the MLC 2006. (There will be a transitional period when some Conventions will be in force in parallel with the MLC 2006.) States that ratify the MLC 2006 will no longer be bound by the older conventions when the MLC 2006 comes into force for them.
