When must a passenger muster be held, and in what must passengers be instructed?

On any ship carrying passengers where the passengers are scheduled to be on board for more than 24 hours, within 24 hours of embarkation. 

The passenger must be instructed in the use of lifejackets and in the emergency actions to be taken on hearing the general emergency alarm signal. (See also “Costa Concordia “-related question below. )
