Seafarers in ships to which The Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Regulations 2002 apply, i. e. sea-going UK ships wherever they may be.
“Seafarer” includes any person, including a master, employed or engaged in any capacity on board a ship on the business of the ship. (It does not include persons training in a sail training vessel or persons not engaged in the navigation of, or have no emergency safety responsibilities on, a sail training vessel.)
