The Merchant Shipping (Prevention of Pollution by Sewage and Garbage) Regulations 2008 (SI 2008/3257), as amended by SI 2010/897 give effect in the UK to the version of MARPOL Annex V in force prior to that adopted in July 2011.
At 31 December 2012 no UK legislation had been published to give effect to the revised Annex V. MIN 436 advised in July 2012, however, that the MCA was “developing new regulations and associated guidelines”.
