Who are P&I club correspondents?

Representatives (but not agents in the legal sense) which most P&I clubs retain at ports worldwide.

A club’s correspondent in a port or country may be a firm of insurance specialists who act for more than one club, or a shipbroking or insurance company only occasionally handling P&I business. Correspondents in the US are often law firms.
