How does the owner know the survey and class status of his ship?

He is regularly informed of his ship’s survey status by its classification society, enabling him to plan (technically and financially) for due surveys and work. Lloyd’s Register, for example, provides shipowners with a Quarterly Listing of survey items due, Conditions of Class and Memoranda.
