What are the arrangements for application of HASAW to ships in British ports, and for enforcement of health and safety law on ships in port?

HSE and MCA have agreed that on board ships in ports in Great Britain, HASAW will not apply, and that enforcement of health and safety legislation on ships will generally be an MCA responsibility. Where shore workers and ship’s crew work together, however, HASAW will apply, and HSE will enforce the law.
