What surveys are required for a Passenger Certificate?

(1) An initial survey before the ship is put in service; 

(2) a renewal survey before the end of every 12 month period; (3) two inspections of the ship’s bottom, out of the water, within any five year period, and at intervals not exceeding 36 months; and (4) an additional survey, either general or partial, according to the circumstances, after a repair resulting from an investigation or whenever any important repairs or renewals are made. All surveys are to be as set out in MSN 1751.
