A long OLB narrative entry is required to be made (e. g. a report of a distress incident and SAR operation). How should it be made if there is insufficient space in the OLB narrative pages?

The report should be made on a separate document (i. e. an annex) giving it a reference number, e. g. “Annex No. 1”. This should then be attached to the OLB, e. g. by stapling it inside the back cover. An entry should then be made in the narrative section of the OLB referring to the existence of the Annex, e. g. “For report of distress and SAR incident dated, see Annex No. 1 attached”.

All spaces in the dedicated pages of an Official Log Book for steering gear tests and drills have been used. How should further steering gear entries be made until the time for closing and disposing of the OLB?

How should an Official Log Book be disposed of?
