Under The Public Health (Ships) Regulations, what powers do authorized officers have in relation to ships arriving at UK ports?

They may: (1) inspect (and take samples of food and water from) ships from which a message has been sent under reg. 13 (see Section H) or ships where there is suspected cases of infectious disease (reg. 7); (2) require ships to be moved for medical inspection (reg. 8); (3) examine and detain persons for infectious disease or vermin (reg. 9); and (4) require the removal of persons suffering from infectious disease (reg. 10).
